Low Cost SEO

There are plenty of things you can do as part of low cost SEO for you site. Here are a few things you can do:

• Link Exchanges
  You can contact (phone, email) similar sites or sites about a similar theme to yours and suggest that you exchange links. Many websites won't be keen on this but some will. Be polite and you maybe well get some link exchanges going, thus building you some free backlinks. Unfortunately search engines are pretty clever and tend to ignoring what is called reciprocal linking. Some people suggest you can even get penalised for this although there doesn't seem to be any evidence for this.

• Domain Name
  The domain name you choose can vastly effect your SEO. Try and choose something catchy but also it can be a good idea to include a relevent keyword in the domain name if you sensible do this. For example if you go to Google and search for Payday Loans you'll see that most of the top 10 have the words Payday or Loans in their domain (or both). It's far easier to rank well for a term that's including in your URL. Of course in the same search you'll see that QuickQuid is top for Payday Loans so it's not vital either. Just something to consider.
  
  
• Site Navigation
  Arrange your menus and links so they are easy to navigate and it is intuative for your visitors to know where they can go and how to get there. A search engine spider will attempt to behave like a human as much a it can so if it's easy for a human to navigate then it should be easy for a search engine spider to navigate. The reverse of this is true as well so make sure your site navigation is logical.
  
  
• Fresh Content
  Search engines, especially Google, love fresh new content. Try and add a new content page, an article or new story at least once a week. You can link your site to your blog, Twitter or other social site to make this easier. Provide an RSS news feed is a create we to distribute your new content too.
